The Dance Documentation Centre was born in 1985, the creation of Claire DestrÃ©e and developed by Contredanse, it opened to the public. What better occasion than this anniversary to share this archive of dance with the public; an opportunity also to underline the purpose of archiving at the present time.
The Documentation Centre collects all types of record (books, reviews, press articles, programmes, photos, sound and audio-visual archives, etc.) related to the choreographic creation, as well as the thinking/philosophy and practice of contemporary dance.
These collections are the reflection of a place and a period â€“ the development of modern and contemporary dance in the CommunautÃ© franÃ§aise de Belgique (French-speaking Community of Belgium) and elsewhere â€“ and special/most important areas of Contredanseâ€™s research: improvisation, composition, transmission, somatic techniquesâ€¦
Your welcome evey tuesday et thursday between 1pm and 5pm, every friday between 10am and 1pm and by appointment
